Tori Sosnowski is currently a Research Technician at the Northwestern Proteomics Center. Tori graduated from Amherst College in 2014 with a BA in Chemistry. At Amherst, she completed an honors thesis on the “Allosteric Inhibition of PTP1B Using Biarsenical Small Molecules”, which could provide a tool for researchers studying medical conditions such as type-II diabetes and obesity, both thought to be affected by the inhibition of tyrosine phosphatase PTP1B in leptin and insulin signaling pathways. At Northwestern University, Tori processes client samples for the Proteomics Core. Using bottom-up methods, Tori prepares samples for mass spectrometry analysis, providing customers with protein identification and quantitation data for their research.
