12 Tesla LTQ-FT Ultra (a.k.a. Blade)

This in-house modified system from Thermo Fisher is an integrated hybrid mass spectrometer consisting of a Velos Pro dual pressure quadrupole linear ion trap combined with a Fourier Transform Ion Cyclotron Mass Spectrometer. The instrument delivers ultra-high resolution (~1.7 million at m/z 400) accurate mass (< 1PPM), and high dynamic mass range. The upgraded front-end to Velos Pro affords the system faster scan speeds and higher sensitivity.

Orbitrap Fusion™

Orbitrap Fusion™ Lumos™ Tribrid™ Mass Spectrometer (aka Carrie).

The most advanced Orbitrap-based mass spectrometer, the Orbitrap Fusion™ Lumos™ features a segmented quadrupole mass filter, an ultra-high field Orbitrap™ mass analyzer, and a linear ion trap for versatile characterization of intact proteoforms via multiple ion activations. These includes: higher-energy collisional dissociation (HCD), collision-induced dissociation (CID), higher-capacity electron transfer dissociation (ETD HD), and 213 nm ultraviolet photodissociation (UVPD). Additionally, the advanced peak determination (APD) algorithm improves the speed of both bottom-up and top-down proteomics experiments.

Time-of-Flight incorporated Q Exactive

The newest addition to our instrumentation arsenal, Tarzan, is a Time-of-Flight (TOF) mass spectrometer utilized to analyze higher mass and lower charged native complexes. This state of the art newly developed instrument in conjunction with ThermoFisher Scientific features a TOF mass analyzer coupled to a C-Trap and HCD cell. This setup promotes higher mass resolution top-down proteomic analysis via multiple ion activation and ion isolation capabilities to further elucidate structural proteomics.

This newly-developed, non-commercial instrument is currently under development phases  for optimization and application testing.
